A plethora of racers made podium appearances over the weekend at Rounds 7 and 8 at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series from Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. This past weekend’s races nears the halfway point for the 15-race short-course off-road series, and much like the weather as we transition to summer, the action on the track is really starting to heat up.

Brian Deegan in a familiar position on the podium, surrounded by beautiful trophy girls after winning both Pro 2 and Pro Lite at Round 7.

Although the championship chase is still wide open in many classes, the premier truck classes have seen one driver really separate from the pack. In Pro 2, Brian Deegan kept his podium streak alive with a win at Round 7 and a third-place finish at Round 8. In Pro 4, Kyle LeDuc continued his dominance in the class by sweeping the field yet again. Heading into the weekend, he held a 31-point lead over Ricky Johnson (294-263), with Johnson finishing near the back of the pack at Round 7 but rebounding to finish second at Round 8. LeDuc has now seven of the eight races so far in Pro 4.

Chad George left Utah with a win and a second-place finish in Pro Buggy, which keeps well out in front for the Championship points race.

Sheldon Creed will remain in the points lead for Pro Lite after the weekend, earning the win at Round 8 and cracking the top five with a fifth-place finish at Round 7. Chad George also cushioned his lead in the Pro Buggy class in Utah, grabbing the win at Round 7 and the second-place finish at Round 8.

In spite it being the most popular packed field in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series, Sheldon Creed has really set himself apart in Pro Lite this season, and in Utah, he earned another class win.

The Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series will take a small summer hiatus that runs through July, resuming at the start of August with Rounds 9-10 at Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California.

At Round 8, Rob MacCachren earned his first Pro 2 of the season in the LOORRS series.
