Helmetlight Inc's Lead-Dog Helmet Light

Have you ever wished for better lighting on your snowmobile?

Maybe, like a lot of mountian riders, your modifications involve removing unnecessary weight. This often includes hoods and the attached headlights. Various aftermarket companies have developed lightweight hoods in lieu of the stock hoods; however, in the interest of saving weight, the headlights and speedometers aren't put back on the machines. This creates some serious vision problems when nightfall arrives as the original headlight is often sitting in a box back in the garage.

Or maybe you just wish you could have a moveable light that you could point up and down the different trails when sitting at an intersection looking for trail signs. Or maybe you don't trust the gas gauge and want to look down in the tank at 10:55pm in Northern Ontario just before the gas station closes for the night. If you've ever thought about having an extra, directional light, then the Lead-Dog Helmet Light is the solution. In fact, this light is the solution to many problems while riding a snowmobile, ATV or motorcycle at night.

I really like this light. On my Storm I have removed most of the instruments and headlight to save ever precious pounds. Without the Lead-Dog Helmet Light I had to make sure I returned to the truck and trailer prior to the sun setting. This cut short some great riding in the first part of the year because of the short, early winter days. The Lead-Dog light allows me to stay in the play areas as long as I'm comfortable and then ride out after dark. Or in the spring time, when the hood is left at home, lighting is still available.

The Lead-Dog Helmet Light fastens to the riders helmet with Velcro, one piece on the helmet and the other on the light. With this accessory there is no bulky, heavy, expensive battery packs. It uses the snowmobile as its power source. With the light attached to the top of your helmet, the light beam shines where ever you point your head. It is great for additional and increased lighting or doing task work, though this is limited by the length of cord connected to the machine. The light is ultra light and is unnoticeable while on the helmet, except for the fact that I can see at night again. If like me, you do most of your riding during the daylight hours, the Lead-Dog Helmet Light can quickly be removed and stored in a fannypack, coat pocket or your seats storage compartment until you need it.

But there are many more advantages to the Lead-Dog Helmet Light. Both night and day riding become safer and more enjoyable with a Lead-Dog Helmet Light. The night turns to day right where it matters, where you are looking. The long life halogen bulb projects a beam that illuminates trail markers up to a mile away. While the light is on, the light glows red so that other riders behind you and from the sides are able to see you more clearly. There is also a brake light feature that is activated when you apply the brakes increasing safety for you and the riders behind you. The Lead-Dog Helmet Light works for all 12 volt systems, AC or DC. It's wired into the existing headlight and brake system with a simple connection of three wires.

The Lead-Dog Helmet Light can be installed on machines with or without batteries. The instructions provided by the manufacture are very detailed and easy to follow. The average handyman can install the LEAD-DOG Helmet Light in 1/2 hour using common hand tools.

The Lead-Dog Helmet Light retails for $79.95 from Helmetlight Inc. For a small shipping and handling charge they'll ship one directly to your door and you'll be on your way to seeing in the dark.
