What happens when you stack two record years of snowfall back to back in the Sierra Nevada mountains? You get a pack of crazy California sled-heads on a mission to rip it up! The boys of Team Summit are back and ready to take themselves, their machines, and you to “Higher Ground.”

Team Summit consists of at least 20 California snowmobilers ready to hit the mountains 365 days a year if the weather was permitting. Guest appearances of Dan Gardiner, known for launching himself off of perfectly good cliffs, and Mark Mesenbrink’s monster mountain tactics bring the team riders to an even higher level and even more stunning shots.

Producer/Director/Filmer Jeff Aiello, also a Team Summit rider, sets up some amazing shots of massive hill-climbs that you won’t see just anywhere. In order to be able to see the riders taking on the whole mountains, many of the shots must be taken from a distance, which gives you a nice shot of the scenery, but does get a little repetitive. You can only take so much of far off shots of them climbing a mountain and turning out back down the hill. They are spread out enough over the 65 minute video though that it never looses your attention.

One of my favorite things of the DVD, other than the awesome hill climbs, are the rider profiles on the corner of your screen during the shots. It lets you know who the rider is, what they are riding, and the length of the track on their snowmobile. Its kind of nice to know which of the riders are using sleds with nitrous and 166” tracks, and who is even more crazy and trying the climbs with only a 136” track.

We didn’t get a chance to check out the first season of the Team Summit riders jaw-dropping near vertical hill climbs, but if season two is any indicator, it’s also worth adding to your collection. The DVD can be bought at www.teamsummit.net for $24.95.
